Camels remain at the top of the final 2024 WyoPreps Softball Poll

The final softball rankings changed one team for the third week in a row. Campbell County retained the top spot in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll, meaning the Camels are the favorite in the state tournament. One of Gillette’s two high schools has won the softball state championship in its first three years.

Cheyenne East and Cody remained third and fourth, respectively. The Thunderbirds finished third in the East Conference at 8-4. The Fillies clinched the West Conference title for the third year in a row, the day before last week’s rankings were released. Cody was 9-1 in league play.

Rock Springs once again placed in the top five in the latest poll. The Tigers finished second in the West Conference at 8-2.

Another team, Laramie, received votes in the final poll of the 2024 season.
