Kristi Noem exiled from tribal lands by a SIXTH Sioux tribe

Days after the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate banned South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem from setting foot on tribal land, a sixth Sioux tribe joined in banishing the Trump-loving, puppy-killing Republican. The Yankton Sioux Tribe voted Friday to ban Noem from their land, a small swath of about 35 square miles in southeastern South Dakota. It’s a meager addition, but since Noem is already barred from as much as 16 percent of the territory within South Dakota state lines, the places she’s allowed to go in her home state are shrinking. “If you look at a map, it should actually stay on the highway,” Lakota Law Project director Chase Iron Eyes told The Daily Beast on Friday. The six tribes that banned Noem cited derogatory and racist comments she made at a town hall in March, saying Native parents were not committed to raising their children and accusing tribal leaders, without evidence, of colluding with Mexican cartels on reservation land. The tribes plan to keep the bans in place until Noem apologizes.
