Car hits eye care store in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Three people were injured Monday afternoon when a passenger car crashed through the front of an eye care office in Martinsburg.

Jason Hoover, chief of the Martinsburg Fire Department, said the car struck the building that housed MyEyeDr. on Foxcroft Avenue. around 2 p.m

“We arrived on scene and a car drove into the building. The resident of the building was trapped and someone was also trapped in the vehicle,” Hoover said.

The person who was in the building was taken to a hospital by emergency helicopter. Two other people in the building were taken away by ambulance.

Hoover said the driver refused treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
