GW updates guidelines ahead of graduation after police clear quad encampment – NBC4 Washington

George Washington University has updated its guidelines for this year’s commencement week as tensions remain high after D.C. police cleared the pro-Palestinian camp on its main grounds. Protesters had set up the camp there in response to the war in Gaza.

GW’s new rules say anyone who disrupts university operations will first receive a warning.

Police will then remove anyone who refuses to leave if their disruptive behavior continues, according to the rules. Statements that threaten, endanger or harass others are not permitted, the university said. That includes signs, posters, noise makers and megaphones.

The university’s main commencement ceremony is scheduled for Sunday on the National Mall.
