Cal is headed to its second straight NCAA Tournament in 2024.

Bears earn second straight postseason bid

The California softball team will begin its postseason road in Louisiana in 2024, competing in the Baton Rouge Regional along with host No. 9 seed LSU, Southern Illinois and Jackson State.

The Golden Bears are making their second straight postseason appearance and 35th in program history.

Cal kicks off the three-day, four-team event with the opening game at 12:30 PM PT on ESPN+ versus Southern Illinois, the Missouri Valley Conference champion. The Salukis enter the tournament 42-9 overall.

LSU and Jackson State follow up with game two on the SEC Network on Friday at 3 PM PT.

The Bears finished the season 36–17 (9–13 Pac-12), losing in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament to host Stanford. Powered by one of the nation’s most explosive offenses, Cal led the conference in home runs (77), doubles (83) and extra-base hits (164).

Cal last reached an NCAA Super Regional in 2012, the same year it last appeared in the Women’s College World Series.
