Northern Lights reaches Central Coast this weekend

CENTRAL COAST REGION, California – The phenomenon known as the “Northern Lights” reached parts of Central California this weekend thanks to a solar storm unlike anything seen in decades.

The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, are patterns in the sky that reflect different colors due to the solar wind from the Earth’s magnetosphere, usually visible in areas of high latitudes.

This weekend was very different as this unprecedented solar storm made places like Maine, California and New Hampshire possible.
