TRAX train derailed at Decker Lake station in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY – The last car of a TRAX train derailed Sunday at the Decker Lake station in West Valley City.

The four-car Green Line train was traveling south when the last car went off the tracks and struck a utility pole. There were sixteen people on the train at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported.

“Expect a 15-30 minute delay on the TRAX Green Line between West Valley Central and River Trail due to a track issue. A bus bridge is active between West Valley and River Trail. For more information, call 801-743-3882,” UTA posted on social media platform X at 4:20 p.m.

A crane will be used to remove the train from the track. There is no confirmation when TRAX service will resume.
